Is it worth buying a new engine for an old boat? - boat transom wheels

My father has an aluminum boat from the 1960s Grumman. 16 feet. There is still a high gloss on a grindstone. But it is good to put a new engine in it? Or only have a chance?

    If you plan to keep the boat for so long, you could buy a new engine, but it was said that maybe to find a late model 2-clock.
